Application of UV-C also termed as UVGI (Ultra-violet Germicidal Irradiation) usage to disinfect has been an accepted practice since the mid 20th century. It has been used primarily in Medical sanitation & sterile work facilities. UVC has also been employed to sterilize Drinking & waste waters, In recent years UVGI has found renewed application in air purifiers.
It is highly effective at killing bacteria & viruses by destroying the molecular bond that hold their DNA together.
